Flydubai lands on Kish Island to open new tourism horizons
TEHRAN - Flydubai has launched its flight to Kish, marking a significant step in the island’s goal to expand its international connections and boost tourism.
“The first Flydubai flight to Kish Island has successfully taken place,” said a local official on the sidelines of the launch event on Saturday, adding that more international airlines are expected to start operating flights to the island in the course of the coming months.
Ezzatollah Mohammadi emphasized that the new Dubai-Kish route, being part of an international flight network, will significantly enhance passenger and cargo transit to the region.
“Our primary goal for establishing this route is not just to cater to visa changers,” Mohammadi brought to light. “We aim for sustainable tourism development in the region.”
He further highlighted that extensive efforts were made to establish this route, and maintaining it requires ongoing collaboration between both the private and public sectors.
The number of flights between Kish and Dubai, he underscored, has increased to four per week, and there are plans to make this route a daily service soon.
Regarding ticket prices, the official explained that with an Iranian airline also operating on the Kish-Dubai route, a competitive market is expected to drive down prices.
In his final words, Mohammadi mentioned that negotiations with Iraqi Airways are underway, with hopes that the airline will soon establish a presence on Kish Island.
